Kentucky Humanities Programs and Coronavirus
Kentucky Humanities believes public health and safety are very important. With reported cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Kentucky, Kentucky Humanities is committed to working with program hosts to reschedule any humanities events due to public health concerns. The decision to reschedule any humanities events associated with Kentucky Humanities remains at the discretion of our partners. Please feel free to contact Kentucky Humanities staff to discuss your event and decision regarding postponement and/or cancellation. We will work with you to make certain all persons involved in the event are notified. We will update our calendar with correct event information. You will not lose funding or be penalized in any way regarding the cancellation or postponement.
Emergency Grant Funding due to COVID-19.
The National Endowment for the Humanities was included in the CARES Act funding and 40% of the funds will be awarded to state humanities councils to support subawards to eligible entities for humanities programming and general operating support. There is no matching requirement for CARES Act funding. Kentucky Humanities is discussing grant application procedures internally and will post procedures and guidelines as soon as we can. The one thing we do know is that any entity that is granted a subaward must be registered in SAM (the federal government system for award management.) This can take time to get registered, but does not cost anything. If you are interested in applying for some of these emergency grant funds, please go ahead and get registered in SAM. For information on how to register, please email Kathleen Pool at firstname.lastname@example.org.
